Hi All,
Another question for those smarter than I.. I am hearing a low level grinding noise when I first start my 71 SuperB. It is strange as it only happens when clutch is engaged. Say I start up the car in the morning, put it in neutral, and let out the clutch. Grinding starts.. Kind of like with the engine, low speed, and not extremely loud, although it is getting louder. I then start off, and after the car has been moving for a while if I put it in neutral again, and listen, I don't hear the grind..
Could it be the throwout bearing?
I thought perhaps it was the gears and that I was low on gear oil, but I checked and it wasn't very low, although it was low. So I changed it. After which I notice that the gears are much stiffer than previously, and 2nd grinds more than it did before, hoping that is a result of new oil..
Anyhow, any ideas? Everything I have read leads me to believe that it is the throwout bearing, but wanted some other opinions..
TIA
