Karmann Ghia doors do not align

Jun 19, 2007 3 Replies

Hi, I have a Karmann Ghia from 1970. My problem is that I can't get the door to align with the body. It points down so that I have an opening at the top of the door and the "pattern" of the door doesn't align as it is supposed to do with the body. I understand that my explanation isn't that good but what I mean to say is that there is sort of a line that starts on the door and ends with the back fender. I can't get that line to be "straight". The door part of that line is a bit lower...

I have changed hinges. What can I do to align this? Thanks Gabriel

Roger, Thanks for your reply. I do however believe that we have adjusted the door correctly and that the problem is something else (or did I misread the instructions you linked to?). My issue is that the door points slightly down so that it doesn't align with the body. Maybe I need to put shims behind the hinges or something? Thanks Gabriel

How about this:

Good luck, Roger
