Ah, ok. I didn't see the "next" button a few minutes ago. I see you have the shroud taped off for now. Gonna hook the hoses back up to the heater boxes when it starts getting cold? The hoses will fit with that exhaust? It looks like it runs pretty close to the engine.

corrodes the vessel that carries it.

That's the plan. I have some 2" flexible exhaust pipe (comes in

18" pieces) that I've used on the Ghia. The trick is getting it to take that sharp turn by the exhaust pipe. Of course the Ghia has a different exhaust, so we'll see.

And those tires won't do in the winter. Some studded snow tires and I'm good to go.

.................Yeah.......Lets just get it over with and change the name of RAMVA to:

rec.autos.makers.vw.baja

LOL!

.................I actually have given some thought to building a baja/volksrod style winter driver. I have a '70 in the backyard with a bent framehead that would make a good starting point. I'm committed to getting my '66 running first so it's going to be quite a while before the time & money are available.

Artificial Intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
