Karl... just take a break. Breathe. Look into it when you have time. No offense, but you are wrong. I don't need to post my credentials for the regulars here, but just in case you don't know.. I've built engines for 16 years, and I am a race car mechanic as well.
AND I run a vacuum / boost gauge in one of my cars, teed off the distributor vacuum hose. At small throttle openings, such as cruising along at steady speed, you have the most vacuum. It peaks also when you are taking off from a standstill, ever so briefly, before the throttle opens more and vacuum signal collapses.
I don't plan on explaining the structure of distributor vacuum advance again, you are perhaps confusing two different vacuum sources. There's ported vacuum and manifold vacuum. Two totally different things. Ported vacuum is what we use to advance ignition with. Read up.
every post you make since your blatantly wrong "tech advice" shows you are choking on sour grapes. i guess you really told me, with your childish and demented diatribes. as far as me posting info from a google search, it would be impossible. if your handle on reading comprehension was as good as you think, you would realize i told you that YOU need to do a search. i have no reason to, since i already know how the vacuum advance system works. you are welcome to post another explanation that you don't understand which proves you were wrong if you wish. makes my work much easier. your childish replies are fine, this is usenet, you are free to make an ass of yourself, however miss-information will be called out everytime. FTR the vacuum guage in the Torino is not a factory guage, and everyone(with the exception of you) knows that. a 1970 torino GT did not have any such guage. i did however own a few BMW's over the years that had the fuel economy guage. that guage was still more accurate than your "tech knowledge".
i did not misspell google, but you did misspell "mis-spelled". come on grammar nazi get it right or keep quiet.
NO HE IS NOT. You "ass clown". can't be, the link he provided said so. or so HE thinks. reading lessons for Karl, lets take up a collection to pay for it, and if there is enough maybe we can buy him a clue?
