Noisy Brakelight Switch or Relay, or something more sinister?

Hi all

It's been raining really heavy today, thunder, lightning, the works. I've found out that the seal in my sliding door is worse than I thought, and have a flooded interior... bilge pumps are now on my shopping list....

But i digress. I noticed today that whilst braking downhill at low speed in traffic, that there is a noticable clunk when the brake pedal is depressed. Is this normal, and I've just not noticed it before, or is it moisture related, or a downhill thing, or something far far worse?

I'm nervous now, I like having brakes...

Peace Antony.

As an aside to that, the storms last night saved me from washing the cars, they've been hit harder than a jet wash. Shiney. ps. Van was dry.. ner ner ner.

If it makes the noise standing, climb under & get someone to press it, should be able to find source without too much hassle..

good idea, cheers James:-)

Hmph Went out to beetle this morning, battery flat enough not to start.. Looks like all the rain got in & shorted. can this happen ?? Perhaps if the alt gets a soaking ? anyone ?
