Don't let that distract you. I really am a dick.

FWIW, I kept my '65 'Tang for over 100,000 miles and after the paint fell off the taillight area it did not rust; hence the 'potmetal' (lead alloy) comment.

It's a very lightweight feeling ride. Be careful. Enjoy.

But, but, but...i'm about trashed right now....no fair....when we go to the girlie club will you let me buy you a lapdance?...if i pay you and the dancer will you two make-out? LOL

hell yeah...bring lots of money...hehe

standard story you tell the other half...don't believe it...LOL....NO....WAIT...its true...completely....

Gee John, I would never guess you're a Chevy fan.

I've always leaned toward Chevy for American made cars, but poor Lenore was just sitting there, screaming "Hug me, or I'll destroy you!" I had to listen.

I'm fully aware. I'm a total bitch. We're even.

I've finally figured it out. It's a 289 2V. 200 hp isn't much but it's a starting point. It used to have an inline 6, and the idiot didn't change the suspension so it looks like that's going to be one massive undertaking for Lenore. Her other massive is the interior. I'll take some before pics soon. It's enough to make you want to cry.

I'm always careful. Jan's the one that drives like an asshole. :D

Why on Earth would I say no to a free lapdance?! But only if we get Chrissy to do it. She's the one that gave me my B-Day dance. *drool*

...if i pay you and the

You don't need to pay Jan. He makes enough money shakin' his ghetto booty.

That ain't bad at all. It's a completely different horsepower than our ACVWs.

Not so. It's a very easy vehicle to work on, and there are lots of aftermarket fixes. Enjoy!

yeah he measurement for HP is different based on the number of cylinder and the car size...

It's got tons more torque and the power comes in at MUCH lower rpms. Way different feel to it.

Jan

trust me Jan, i understand...but the statement was still wrong...200 HP is

200 hp....whether its in a bicycle or a tanker truck....

why don;t we use a power to weight ratio comparison instead???

60hp in a 1300 pound car is still no power next to 200hp in a 2300 pound car. 140 extra hp , only 1000 extra pounds..............

( the figures given above are by no means intended to be accurate.....so STOP IT! don't even start schooliin me on actual weights and hp)

P.S. my daughter was looking over my shoulder and asked me how a car could have "hit points".........LOL

Not really. Just poking some fun atcha'!:~)

I know my 70 bug says in its manual that it has a weight of 1900 lbs. How much does a stock 66 Mustang weigh?

Yay for CRPG playing daughters!

I'm pretty sure I addressed this in my original post. Please refrain. Start a new thread......................or be specific and ask,.........say..........speedy jim or something.............LOL

( I said I have no idea what the actual numbers were.)

next!

I know you said that, so I asked the obvious question hoping that the new Mustang owner would know.

Michael Cecil wrote

Sure. Here I am all proud of myself for learning ridiculous amounts of information about my Mustang in a very limited amount of time (important s*it too, not just what color code I need), and you have to ask me a question that it never crossed my mind to ask. I don't know. But I can find out!

K.

And I did. Anywhere between roughly 2500 lbs and 3000. Depends on many variables, and in generally they usually weigh in between 2500 to 2700. Much lighter than the later models.

K.

The '66 Mustang with the 289 weighed 2,900 pounds. The 2-barrel version put out 200 horsepower. That's 14.5 pounds per horse.
