OT Speeding Ticket

Actualy Shaggie, mine is the 1602cc version. With the mild mods, it is rated 110hp at the crank. Never had it on a dyno, so not sure about at the rear wheel. I can wait to shift into 5th gear till I hit 95 with no undo strain on the drivetrain. It is a hoot to drive. It is real happy cruising at 80mph all day long. Very nice bike. In 21 months I have almost

32000 miles on her.

Cool. I didn't know a 1600 was even an option on the V-Star. I

*think* that in 2002 the only options were 1100 or 650, but maybe I just got in a rush to get a bike and that's the only options they had at the dealership I went to.

Don't get exited cubes are not what they used to be.... Cruiser bike of

1600.... Not to wet your pants from..

My car shifts from 4th to 5th at about 125 mph.

My car is quite happy at 100+ mph all day long.

But it won't go 205 mph... ;-(

wow...bet that thing is a torque monster...my old katana is rated at a tiny

100rwhp.....it works well though on a 450 pound bike....it doesn't mind me shifting to third gear at 95....

95 is about when I shift the busa out of first.

hehe...which is why i don't have a busa....(but would love one)...my Katana is happy with around 65 as high as 70 in first....but that is pushing the 12.5k redline....(I'm NOT kurt, bitch....LOL)

The thought has occurred to acquire a Muzzy big block kit for a busa motor, re-cam it for a lower RPM peak for hp/torque, and hang it on the back of the baja. Stock it makes ~100 lb/ft, but that is at 6700 rpm. Drop that down a few thousand, and it would be in the house. If I only had a rail...

Otherwise, I am quite likely to take one of the small V6 'zuki SUV engines and put on it. Think that will work out better in the long run, as the AC Type 1 VW engines just don't last on a baja (anyone can argue that all they want...many years and TOO MANY dead motors cluttering up my shop tell me otherwise), and the Type IVs are too expensive.

You must be the Chris Perdue from alt.motorcycle.sportbike. Shame there is no "Chris,bitch" to cause even more confusion ;-)

The 1602 is on the Roadstar, not the Vstar. Kinda like the Vstars Big Brother.....*8-}

It needs lots of torque. It weighs 750 lbs. Torque is about 100 ft/lbs. Not bad for a Vtwin....*8-}
