Re: Part Number?

The A signifies that that is an updated version of the part number. Interestingly enough, Dr. Porsche also designed the part numbering system which Volkswagen still uses to this day.

I have not been able to find where that 311 905 861A part number goes to.

I did find 311 905 861

with no letter as being the 'steering lock w/ignition starter switch' for

the 1600TL type3 from 8/66

to 7/67. > > Your super is a 1302/1303? > If yes, then the steering lock should be part number 111 905 851N up to vin 134 2358 021 > and ignition switch part number 111 905 865F from vin 112 2000 001 to 134 2358 021. > > > Anyone know a good source to try and find out what part number 311905861A is > > supposed to go to.
