Those of us who are used to taking things apart and putting them back together can do that, but the average individual has not the foggiest idea about how a car is assembled and what can be learned by taking one apart. I say charging ten dollars per half hour for someone to learn something about how cars actually work as a whole (or part!:~) is a cheap fee for an education!:~)

BTW, why would you want to take it to the scrap yard? A Beetle weighs so little that I'd think it would cost more in gas to haul it off than it would be worth!:~) Then again with the Chinese buying up all the scrap steel it just might be worthwhile!!!

well...it surely wasnt' for the money....i needed to get rid of my 74 and a 69 body...was not really worth it to me to "restore" them due to damage to both...i took glass and some parts off the 74...stripped out the interior(except for the drivers seat and steering column) then cut up the 69 and crammed it inside....took it to the scrapyard and i think i got about thrity bucks for it....didn't cover gas and sawzall blades(as you pointed out)....
