re: studs broken off

Hi all,

Yesterday i got the exhaust back on my brother's 1302! Whooo Hooo!!

This sounds simple to the most of you but i had to drop the engine to drill the studs out. And this was the first time to me... pfffeeww... it all went wel, it only took us 6 hours!!

The only thing is: when he started it for the first time the car smoked a LOT. Drove it on the highway for 15 miles and it was all good... Today, it smoked again terribly, mainly from the left exhaust. I hope WD40 and liquid wrench are the cause of it because i used that a lot too. Or could the smoke be caused by something else?

yes the WD40 can be the cause of the smoke or if you tilted the engine to one side while removing it or reinstalling it. Run it forawhile it should clear up. If it continues to smoke hen you have a different problem.
