Today and yesterday I experienced a stalling problem and am looking for advice. Both times the car was driven for about an hour and the car just died without warning and would not restart. Both times after sitting for some time the car did restart. I replaced the coil, cap, and rotor after the first time as a precaution but it seems not to have helped. Did the stalling occur *while* you were driving at speed? What speed. Or, did it occur when you let the engine idle, like at a light.

That suggests fuel starvation to me. Try a run with the filler cap loosened to see if tank venting is to blame. A clogged tank outlet screen could do it. Rare, but possible, is a fuel pump pushrod which gets stuck in the bakelite flange at high temp.

if you don't choose to loosen the cap to eliminate the posibility of a venting problem as Jim suggest, the next time it does it, and you pull off the road, quickly get out and slowly loosen the cap...if you hear it suck in air, then your vent is blocked...the cap is *non-vented* but the tank has a vent system...if it is not venting the fuel pump will suck fuel till it can no longer overcome the vaccum built up in the tank, thus causing fuel starvation... J
Clogged fuel filter ? A rubber fuel hose with a weak spot ? They collapse pretty easy when they gets hot.
