Type 3 Parts for sale

Jan 21, 2004 5 Replies

I have noticed a lot of for sale stuff on here today, and that made me aware that I haven't been doing any selling of anything lately.

So,....................I am disassembling the 69 Fastback and saving what parts are decent.................some are very decent, some are re-buildable or clean and paint stuff,.......................not a bunch by the the way.

I have the doors, hood, rear lid, and front fenders.............pretty fair, however the right front is absolutely not correct for 69. It is an earlier one, as there is no Fuel filler hole in it..............67 or prior????I don;t know Fastys real well, so anyone just jump in here and guide.

I have a few of the lights ( you know the little round ones) that are just fixtures, the chrome bit, two are in pretty good shape, there's one that's ...eh,...........couple of lenses and such, but I am not sure of their overall good or bad condition, tell me what to look for and I'll I'll check and take photos.........as with any part someone is interested in.

The gas tank has been coated on the inside, and looks pretty good. However it has been modified to be used for carbeureted only,.............the return line was crimped shut..........looks like maybe even soldered............a decent tank for someone in need,.......really cheap too.

There's a bumper support and heater tubes and .........OH!............Damn I almost forgot, I have a complete muffler. It's been used , but it still looks like it's serviceable. I also Have the heater boxes, and will sell them with or without the other ...........................Some other assorted pieces of metal ductwork and pieces that are engine related. I have the intake manifold for a FI engine with the fuel injectors still in it. I wouldn't bet on them being any good, but the intake pieces are all decent I think.

The Chassis looks excellent so far, as it has good pans in it, and I think the front beam is still in good enough shape to use.............steering box and all.

No guages to speak of I'd say, as they have all gotten rusty on the trim rings, and do not look as if they will be any good..............anyone wants 'em they can have them..............even the clock that was in it is there, just not terribly pretty.................Front spare tire pan is in good shape, and kept out. as well as the filler piece that is glued to the front apron usually...............crumple piece?............it's made of something akin to triple expanding foam,..........hard , pourous stuff..................in excellent shape.

Anything that you ask about and can describe well enough I will show you photos of if you ask,.....................everything will be sold or put on the curb eventually, so speak now and lets make some deals.

I have got to get some cars out of the back yard fellas.............it's getting to be an issue.

I was going to buy a really nice trailier the other day, but have no space to put it.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and likewise yours

Hey Mike! Long time no yack!

Hey, that 1600 you sold me is still plugging along in the Baja.

But something is a chewin'. I pulled the sump off tonight and found the cow magnet like this:

http://63.230.74.177/ghia/MVC-381F.JPG Scary, no? All that swarf is since I put the sump on it, right before the

2002 Berg Cruise.

But the 1776 is a comin' along... ;-)

Max

Indeed. I plan to check it again at the next oil change. Gives completion of the 1776 some added urgency.

Imagine all that swarf circulating in an engine lacking an oil filter. And it's made up of very fine particles that would pass right through the stock screen.

Max

Haven't posted on that spot yet, but will post a bit on The Samba and possibly the type3 spot too, after I take some pictures of what I have,..................supposed to rain this weekend . Maybe I can get some daylight and take some pictures in there somewhere though.
