Ok, now we come to the surprises, deception phase. I found a really ugly,dirty, filthy distributor on the SB. it's a VW I think, it says is made inbrasil. But I really can't identify it. The number on the label (besides VWand Audi logos) reads 040 905 205 8. Can anyone tell me what's this? is itreliable? should I rebuild it? or should I throw it to the thrash can? it'sworking. So I think behind all that dirt, there's a living dizzy.Thanks for your help

There's another number engraved on the body. Misteriously, this one lookslike a bosch number. It's 9 230 081 035. NOW I'm confused! is there anyoneout there with that kind of knowledge? how can I set the timing if I don'teven know what dizzy do I have?

What distributor is this?

Finally got to look at the dist with light and it reads JFUR 9 230 081 035. So officially I am another member of the 'what dist is this' club :)

stock in 1300 brazilian bugs. I am putting a 1600sp engine from a 69 german bus in my 61, and using that carb because its what came with the engine (bought from a private party who had it in a 1960 bug that got parted out... :)

its a veeeeery simple carb. manual choke, very simple power circuit. comes stock with everything brasilian that has single carb, with different jets...
