Need help, Have 1994 turbo volvo wagon with the above described problems. Does anyone know or can guess what the issues might be? Thanks
940 volvo wagon has slight gas smell when starts on a cold morning also...has some knocking as well from underneath

It's probably just running a little rich on choke.
When do you notice the knocking noises? When the engine is running but the car isn't moving? Only when the car is moving? On cornering? To the left or the right? When you hit a bump/pothole? From the front or the back?
