I recently installed a fairly inexpensive keyless entry / alarm system on my '88 760 wagon. I've been less than impressed with it. The range on the remote key fobs is very inconsistent, as is the operation of the alarm. Mainly purchased the kit for remote door unlock features. Have tried extending the antenna, relocating the box, etc. with no real improvement. Even got the schematic for the keyfob and extended the antenna on that with no improvement.
Question:
Has anyone installed a system they've been happy with? What brand/model was it? Other info?
I'm considering getting the parts from a Ford minivan to rig up for this... rented one recently, and the keyless worked great!
