my haynes manual states that there is a unit under the bonnet that will show me fault codes, but i do not seem to have one, but i have a socket in the centre console, does this replace the other one,
if so looks like i cannot get the codes with the socket one. the year is 1997 20v 2.5 colin
The system under the bonnet was replaced with the system in the center console form model year 1996. The system in the console is not readable as the old one was. You need a OBD2 interface to read it. Europe has another decoding system than USA.
