What problems have you experienced with your keyless entry remote?

This is my opinion of Volvo remotes. The remote functions/buttons work great. It is the design of the remotes that suck big time. The older style that uses a seperate remote and key worked great.. The newer style that is one piece, key and remote all in one, SUCK. The following does not happen on all Volvo remotes but I feel that it is way to often. The plastic shell halves come apart. The end that has the switch blade key falls apart. The corner of the XC90 remote has a slot that a "D" ring fits into. A lot of the D rings fall out and or the remote seperates in this corner. Volvo did come out with a new D ring and a whimppy assed fishing line swivel to install on said D ring to be able to attatch other keys/items. Trouble is that the swivel and small ring are too stiff to get seperated to install other keys. I have not seen other care manufacture remotes. I feel that the Volvo remotes are way to large in size.

When you say tht you are working on the design of remotes, for what purpose? Have car manufactures contacted you about this? Will you or do you have any direct influence on remote design that auto makers will listen to?

I have had no problem with the remote for my 2000 S-40. I haven't even had to replace the battery yet. It is far better, IMHO, than the remote for my wife's 1997 Honda Accord.
