Hi Everyone,
Just wondering....how are the A2 Big Bumpers secured to the car? Are they bolted at some point along the car or do the simply sit on the front end?
Thanks,
Pete
Hi Everyone,

The bumpers snap onto the front rebar and slide over two supports near the side markers.
I know of a place that sells relatively inexpensive big bumpers in Toronto. Lemme know if you're interested, I'll dig out the number. They're at the 400 and Finch.
Darryl.
And the bumper is bolted to the car with six bolts. Two each side underneath (easily confused with subframe bolts so be careful when undoing things...(guess how I know!)...watch what's "moving") and one each side just inboard of the turn signals (remove lamp housing to access it).
The reason I ask is my front bumper cover was replaced at the body shop, but now it seems to be loose on the front of the car...if I pull on the cover, it will slide right off...

Those Crosby bastards :)
The rebar has a bunch of square holes cut into it. On the cover itself, there are a series of tabs that push into these holes. Check to see that the tabs haven't been bent back or broken off completely. Did you snag the cover on something?
Darryl.
It's a brand new bumper cover, so it's just a matter of pressing it in, I would guess...

The tabs then should have wedges that snap in, spreading the tabs apart so the cover doesn't unsnap.
So do I just press on the cover to install it, or is there something more to it?
- Pete
Nope, just slide over the bumper supports and press into place. Now that I think of it, I may have pressed mine on with the rebar off the car but it shouldn't matter either way.
Darryl.
It's best if you have the bumper off of the car so you can reach all along the back of the rebar.
