tiny coolant drip

Oct 30, 2005 2 Replies

I have an '87 Golf and recently it has started to leak coolant. Iam pretty sure it is not the rad and can see that it drips off the bottom of the (not sure) lower unit with a belt on it. I dnt think its a hose I ve felt below it and its dry I would say its from the engine but im not sure?Is this enough info to give me a set of possibilities and a projection on a remedy and cost? I would say its losing about half a cup a week not a lot but getting there?

thanks for any help yopu might be able to send my way!

Michael

It is your waterpump for sure. Not overly difficult to do. Replace your belts while you are at it. Also check the softness of your hoses. Winter is coming.

Don't go with a cheap aftermarket...

Water pump weep hole.

Water pump is going.
