HI I've just replaced the cylinder head gasket on my 91 polo 1300.All went quite smoothly until I discovered a crack in the thermo housing-that strange octopus type plastic matrix thingy. Taking the temp sensors out was easy enough, pull clips out and remove them but- Ye Gods -trying to slide them back on the replacement unit was nigh on impossible! In the end I had to file them down to size to make the clips fit. This cant be right. I'm curious to know if there is some trick to this( I am not in possession of the Haynes manual).
