L reg Ford Mondeo immobiliser/central locking problem

Recently bought car for my daughter as cheap runabout. Central locking wasn't working so replaced fuse and found motor in drivers door knackered. Got replacement, fitted and central locking works perfectly. Unfortunatley red light stays on in dash and car won't start as immobiliser not switching off. Any help gratefully received.

HI I think if you open the bonnet and then keep the bonnet alarm button pressed for a while ( not sure how long ) this will reset the alarm system. Don't know if this will help' regards
