What could be ruder than barging into the wrong newsgroup - even when
admitting that he knows it is the wrong newsgroup - and then talking
about something completely irrelevant. Certainly nothing I said. We
can do without these prats. He deserves everything he  gets....
including being ripped off by his BMW dealer.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

No I didn't, I hadn't a clue, I used to hang around on the lotus elan group
a while back but that got amalgamated due to lack of activity into the
generic lotus one.  Which is why I explained calmly and rationally *why* I
posted to this group, hardly barging I feel.

alt.autos.mini...  mini...  *mini*  *MINI*  Like it or not (and your
position is quite clear) the new mini is a mini.  BMW own the name, the
brand, Cooper the lot.  Which ever way you cut it the new mini is a mini.
Now it is clear that this particular enclave of usenet is for Issigonis
designed minis I shall say no more about BMW ones.

That's a sweeping generallisation wouldn't you say?

I'm getting nothing out of the ordinary for a car...  I don't have a problem
with it, just a minor niggle I want to get sorted.

And so far that hasn't happened, the car is *just* out of warranty...  we
shall see...  In fact, the whole point of asking was to ensure that I knew
what was wrong so I *don't* get ripped off by the dealer.

I'm puzzled, tho, as to how you can tell what I do and don't deserve by my
GFs choice of car...?

Nope, still none.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Isn't there a charter somewhere, written by Rocky, which states along the
lines of
"For the discussion of English Mini automobiles"?

G.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Gordon you are absolutely brilliant Sir.

If someone has these charter please post it and make it a point to post it
weekly so we can all know what it what on here.

Also, if someone is to post without reading the charter all we need to do is
kindly refer them to it.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

<re-ordered top-posts>

Ummm, I was trying to highlight "English" as opposed to "German"....

This is very interesting analogy, I like it.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Wot - so you're saying that the classic Beetle was Mexican then?

G

Gordon Welsh wrote:

Nope, I don't recall ever saying that anywhere at all, but hold on, let me
check ....

Nope, just checked my post and nowhere does it mention the beatle.

I'd up the doseage if I were you, the voices seem to be rather over-powering
at the moment.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Ah yes, the masterly repartee of the f'wit hiding behind a false name.
Obviously you need it spelling out to you that large numbers of the
classic Beetle were built in Mexico, and I was pointing out that by
your logic, this most German of cars would actually be Mexican,
you pillock..

Would you say that to my face?

Yes. I'm not scared of bullies, either in the real world or those that hide
behind a computer screen.

But like I said, you totally misinterprated the whole nature of my OP.

You were the one who put words into my mouth , and who started getting
aggressive.

I've always lived by the motto of live and let live.

If you want to start trouble then I'll always look for a legal and non
aggressive way of ending it quickly, the evidence is above and plain for all
to see.

Good show Man and I commend you.

These internet wannabe "thugs" and "hooligans" forget that we are a society
of laws.

Law enforcement (and Attorneys if I might add) don't take kindly to threats
these days.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Final comments interspersed:

Quite how you come to the conclusion that I am bully I do not know.
I feel I am quite entitled to question anyone, who comments on my
mental health and any medication that I may be on, then calls me a "prize
class c*nt", as to whether they would choose to be quite so offensive
if they were having a discussion with me face-to-cade, rather than, as
you put it (ironically enough for someone named after a Viz character)
hiding behind a computer.

No I didn't - you chose to challenge my opinion, poorly as it turned out,
then resorted to vulgar, personal remarks.

Again I put no words into your mouth, and I have never been aggressive with
anyone online - as already mentioned, your are the one being offensive and
using foul language, censored as it may have been.

Oh that's evident....

Again not sure what evidence you speak of, but like you I go all out to
pursue
a complaint of abuse and obscenity through official channels.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Hum? My 2002 Mini Cooper S was built in England "by BMW". One of the
reasons for purchasing this particular automobile is because I don't fit
in any of the older model Mini's. I'm sort of tall. Never have I had any
problems with my Cooper. No water leaks and no fires.

Re: New mini airbag Q...

Built  / Assembled in England with cheap parts sourced for all over the
world, even the engine is a chrysler design built with cheap labour from
south America yet the price savings aint passed onto the customers who all
seem to think it all British, look at the size of it, thew only thing that
is mini about it is the badge :-) its got more in common with an alegro than
a classic timeless design,

Steve
