Looks like the Sera may be happening!

Remarkable. Admittedly it's not the best example of the breed, but I think that the garage I found the Sera at may be prepared to swap my Golf GTI for it...

This will be a fun project. I'll have to source new headlights from Japan, but so far I'm thinking of making good use of the double DIN space for the headunit to put in some sort of multimedia thing, plus a return to neons.

*crosses fingers*

I was thinking of satnav or similar tech, perhaps one of these in-car PCs people keep messing with. If I get my paws on it, and it does look likely, then I'm going to make it into a long-term project to get it into a seriously 'cyberpunk' car. Though the colourflair paint may not be as industrial as I'd like, it'll look cool (and be significantly cheaper than painting most cars, as only the bottom half needs to be done, I'll change the windscreen surround to black).

Thin neon lights in the roofglass - hidden by the headliners, which can be detached of course. If anyone makes one that changes colour, even better. Neon underlighting if I can hide it. Red illuminated 'Sera' logo. Backlit instruments ;)

It will, of course, remain totally standard under the hood. Can't be doing with trying to make a slug go faster ;)

Colour change neons are available.

What are cool are high intensity LED rope/tube light " Neons.

You can get multi coloured ones, and get them to chase, and flash and do patterns, as well as giving a Neon glow.

Also you can get multicoloured PC USB powered Cold Cathodes that do Sound to light (more vibration to light) and have something like 5 colours and flash according to any vibration.

Grey plastic and fake wood. That's even worse than the Ka's art student dash :P. The bottom thing seems to use the same swivel mechanism as my Pioneer HU.

Hmm, not sure. Looks like a cross between a CRX and a Tigra, with a bit of Mazda 323 thrown in, with gull wings.

Not unpleasant, but very odd from certain angles.

Found an ad on upmystreet. £4k for a j Plate 1.5 litre. Bloody hell they keep their price don't they.

Sounds like you got a cracker. So when are you going to start sticking random corrugated metal foil/wire ducts to it, and rivet on various polished metal panels and "access hatches", then spray it "Rough" silver?

Would make an excellent back to the future clone.

Especially if you fitted one of the fake dump valves, a CO2 "purge" valve, and full neon underbody, with airbag suspension.

Just a thought, but could you get an MR2 Turbo engine in, or one of the earlier supercharged imports.

I'm not! *shudder*

Colour-changing paint is my current plan. Though it's cleaning up nicely, I might leave it 'as is' and restore it.

I dislike BTTF clones based on Deloreans. Basing one on this little bubblecar would be awful ;)

Suspension would be nice. Why do people lower cars again?!

You can fit the 135bhp Starlet Turbo engine. Since they're hard enough to insure in normal, gutless 110bhp form, modded would be hardly worth bothering with ;)

Who cares ? You don't buy a 620 TI for the interior !

Probably does - but it's a Kenwood. Top CD-Player is a MASK+ unit. Bottom Equalizer is just removeable facia.

I like my interior. The 'grey plastic' is good quality soft stuff and the half leather Recaros are excellent and highly adjustable.

I'm also a fan of wood strips in cars, but it just seems to be the cool thing nowadays to say they are crap and fake, even if they're done fairly nicely :/

Ever seen a 306 Cabriolet with a wood interior? Just that one example is enough to justify keeping wood out of mass produced cars...

Or the Skoda Felicia GLXi I saw, which had wood similar to the obligatory 'slab' stuck on the dash of a Metro Vanden Plas.

Very few cars can carry it off. I'm fairly certain the 'wood' in my gf's Scorpio has never seen a tree...

Agreed. When quality steering wheels changed to leather, so should quality trim have changed - see the newest Astons for how a car should be trimmed. Dribble.

I didn't think you did. As for what cars should have wood in them, IMO you're talking Jags, Rollers and Morgans etc.

I'd get fed up of carrying around 2 stereo fascias TBH. Not suggesting that it was a Pioneer, just noticed that it was the same :P.

Actually, I saw inside a Kia Sorento we have at work the other day. My jaw dropped when I saw the wood trim (and not in a good way).
