2 pronged flasher relay for early '60s (12v) system

I know this has been discussed at one point or another, but I can't find it.... can anyone recommend how to hook up the single flasher indicator (in the speedo) if your system is 12 v converted and you can only find flasher units with two prongs? The car doesn't have emergency flashers... so there is no emergency flasher portion of the circuit. In case anybody cares, I am using a '60 turn signal switch and the single-bulb, dual filament rear lights.

Used an extra shim to get the turn signal switch to reliably work (compensating for the snap ring which has probably ground down with time).

Still trying to satisfy the state inspection dude....

I don't know if VWs are different, but in my '62 Stude which has the same setup the socket for that light is insulated and one terminal of the bulb is connected to the LF light and the other is connected to the RF light. Works fine.

Yes, that works. But on the VW speedo, TURN, OIL, GEN lamps all have a common connection to battery (fuse). They can't be separated, so the scheme won't work on the VW.
