/6 engine to 5-Speed

Is there an off the shelf 5 speed solution to putting a 5-speed manual aft of a Slant 6? Or would getting a Lakewood scattershield be less trouble? I'm thinking either Tremec or Richmond Gear, although there is probably a Getrag that would do fine and available out of junkyards.

A Clark, beloved of school bus drivers since Marilyn Monroe was alive, would be obvious-obviously too big for a car, that is.

More or less, yes. A Dakota 5spd with an adaptor plate works fine. Toyota Celica boxes have also successfully been used. This topic has been discussed frequently at

It's too bad, isn't it? you'd enjoy all that double-clutching.

AFAIK the Clarks were full synchro on all gears except first. Which made floating the gears tough.
