I need to replace the front sealing on my mark3 gt6. I've been told I need to take the engine out. Any other way of doing this?

Are you talking about the timing chain cover oil seal or some other part? If the former, you should only need to remove the radiator - assuming that you can get the crankshaft pulley nut loose...
