No offence but why would you want to? I would have preferred my 87 GTAs seats in my 80 firebird.

Well, it's a boring story of stupid regulations in our country

I live in belgium and I imported a '91 convertible and to get this vehicle registered here in belgium I need to have seats with a safety system so the back of the front seat doesn't flip forward without pulling a handle somewhere like on the seats of my old '77 firebird

My idea was to put the '77 front seats into the '91 (if they fit) to pass the vehicle registration tests, but use the '91 seats again as soon as I get my registration

Currently my '77 is in the backyard at my parents place and I can only see it for myself this weekend - but I'm really curious if the seats will fit - anybody ?

The seat latches on the '91 Firebird have a pendulum in it. In a hard or sudden stop the seat backs latch. The seat belt retractors work the same way. Maybe you need to tell the inspectors this?

I doubt they will because the wheelbase is different, floor attachment points are different and the seats are different.

Can it work? Yes, but you have to fabricate brackets. Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 26k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann.
