car cut out and cam belt seems to be loose but not broken. it sounds as if the belt is catching on something in the casing where i cant see, engine turns over but wont start and cam belt seems to be working its way off
You need to find out what the came belt is catching on and probably replace the cam belt. It sounds like that the cam belt skipped a few teeth with all these problems.
I am not sure what your question is. If you cam belt is working its way off, there is clearly a problem with the cam belt.
You shouls also tells us what the year and country of the car is (there are different models in different countries).
