Any experience replacing a 1997 Ford Escort cassette radio player with a standard-sized CD receiver? It is necessary to replace the radio/climate control face plate. Brands/successes/failures? Thanks. Greg

It is necessary to replace that plate with a version that has a standard DIN size hole. They show up on eBay regularly, here is one:
