1988 Bronco

I bought a used 1988 Bronco and its a v8 and i have taken it to a ford dealership like five times cause stuff keeps going wrong with it but they act like they have no idea whats goin on everytime an that there is nothing wrong and then later they say oh well you have leaks and this and that but now that i have all that fixed i still have this same problem and they cant figure out whats wrong, you see i start it up and its roaring its like very powerful and then all of a sudden the little rpm gage starts goin down untl its below one and it seems like it wants to shoot back up to two rpm or three but it just goes back down again like its haveing a battle with itself and then once i start driving it when i get to a red light or something and its idle it starts making a weird humming/ whirling noise and its not good, but the ford dealership doesnt seem to have a cllue. what could it be

Your first mistake is to assume the Ford Dealership has mechanics that would be experts on 1988 Ford Broncos. Most of their staff were most likely in grade school when this vehicle was manufactured. In automobile years, you bought a dinosaur.

A better bet might be to ask around if there are any Ford "experts" in the area, like retired Ford Dealership mechanics that work for a little additional income...or maybe someone belonging to a local 4X4 club.

well now that i have taken it in five times i am so low on cash it is unbelieveable, i mean hello you assume that someone who specializes in mechanical issues would know whats up with the bronco, man its annoying, it shouldnt have to be so hard

Tina, look on the bright side and be more positive. Think of the gas money you are saving every day that vehicle is parked for repairs. And to think it could all be from a simple vacuum leak or a map sensor or something.

my neighbor took his 87 ranger in for a missing problem and they said they couldnt scan a truck that old anymore.... i would think you couldget alot of repair money on older stuff..i scanned it for him with my otc mindreader and got it going in no time. lucas

Richard (Al Bundy) like to do the same thing. He sits around and thinks about all the water he saved by not flushing his toilet because he just craps his depend diapers instead.
