I have a 2001 Ford Escape that I have 65,000 miles on right now. Today I just left the breakshop and got my 2nd set of new rotors for a total of 3 rotors on the car since I have owned it.
I have always got my brakes done at Brakes Plus in Denver, CO. They tell me it is standard that you can only get 2 pairs of brake pads out one set of rotors on the ford escape?
They also said that the minimun thinkness you can put new pads on the escape rotor is .866
My pads measured at the shot today per the shop at .866 and .875. They also say by law they can put on new pads on anything below .881 per the national highway and saftey group.
I got all new pads and rotors from them in 2002, then i got new pads and full system flush in last year.
Does this jive with anybody?
If it is standard for a for with 65,000 miles to need 3 new rotors what kind of brakes are these?
Thanks for any help on this. I can't get the brakes on this car serviced by a Tom Martino company etc without dropping 300 bucks. Thanks everyone
David
