F250's: model years, turbochargers

May 31, 2004 1 Replies

Is there any particular ease of maintenance on the 1989 F250 over the 1994 F250? The 1989 I am looking at has no turbo and less power, of course, but I am more concerned that the vehicle not be a maintenance hog.

Any thoughts? Please respond using the e-mail address: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com

I assume you are looking at the diesel. None are maintenance hogs. You will find 3 versions in 1994. Naturally aspirated, (early model year, a slug and a fuel hog.), Turboed, (mid model year and better all around performance and fuel economy.), and the PowerStroke, (late model year and much better performance and fuel economy.) The PowerStroke is a bit noisier but you gotta love that sound. (Get the underhood sound insulation.)
