Re: 6.0L PSD/F350

If you are only towing 5000# you would hardly know it was there with the diesel, plus you fuel mileage is going to be much better. On the down side they take about 14 quarts to change the oil and the filter is about $10.00 at Walmart.

A short time ago, "George Hutchison" snipped-for-privacy@telus.net told us of a bad idea he had:

Hoss, before you make an expensive and time consuming mistake, take a gander at the forums concerning the 6.0L over at thedieselstop.com. Then wait a couple years for the FMC folks to get the bugs worked out.

Thanks - do you own a diesel? I've heard the oil changes are $85 CDN. I'll probably do it myself for that price. See the posts from one of the other users. He doesn't think too much of the 6.0 PSD. I tried to get to thedieselstop.com to check on their comments, but it wasn't working tonight.

AM: You don't mince words. Do you have personal experience with a diesel from one of the manufacturers? I can't get into thedieselstop - i'm new at newsgroups. A buddy has a '90 Cummins with 500,000 km on it and it runs like a dream - too bad the new Dodges are ugly or I might buy one. The Duramax is an option too but not the one with the goofy Aztek headlights - what the heck was GM thinking? I'd go for the GMC version.
