4" lift with Shackle Reversal Kit?

Question

Hi all,I'm going to get a 4" lift kit for my CJ7.  While at a local jeep store Inoticed one of their jeeps with a Shackle Reversal Kit (one of the guysthere told me what it was).  My question is what does the shackle reversalkit do for ride and would it be a good combination with the 4" Lift.Thanks,Bill

Shackle reversal makes it ride like a passenger car, the axle nowsingles back, up and over pumps on the road, rather than being forcedinto the hole. Just the opposite from what you want when pulling in fourwheel drive, the axle must now push rather than pull the anchor perch,compressing, bowing the spring and pulling the driveshaft apart:         God Bless America, ßill O|||||||Omailto:     William Oliveri wrote:

I had a 4" suspension lift and shackle reversal on my rig for about a year but got rid of the SR because I couldn't get used to the new braking characteristics. The nose dive during hard-braking drove me nuts, especially with the weight of a winch up front. Yea it rode a little smoother but the "good" did not outweigh the "bad" effects. The SR is not a worthwhile modification IMO.
