Anybody dropped a 4.3 Vortec V6 & 4L60E in a Jeep?

Thanks Kevin.  I just dropped him a line.  I'm getting tired of the I6, 258 and repairs to the engine andtransmission will get expensive.  So, I'm trying to figure the best way togo.  I can get the Vortec/4L60E in great shape out of a GMC Jimmy for $650or start with a Chevy 427 V8 block/heads for $200 and go from there piece bypiece. You're right, Bill.  And I've considered that too.  I live in a two junkyard town, though.  And, believe it or not, it's not too easy to come by aV8 around here that hasn't been blown up altogether.  (Must be nice on thewest coast:)  I went looking for transmissions and what do you do when theysay, "Nope, ain't got none of those"?  Unless I get a tip from the parts stores, I have to 1) keep goin' back toask the same question, 2) go to the BIG yard that sells junk at retailprices, or 3) buy new.  Old story that binds many Jeepers.  The ride keepsme busy and it's kinda fun, though:)P.S.  Sorry bout the "Fellas" reference.
