I have an '01 TJ 4.0L and filled up (from 1/8th of a tank) at an Esso outside Quebec City last week. 27 Kms (17 miles?) later the Jeep stalled and the check engine light came on. Restarted and it ran really rough and stalled when I tried to move, then the check engine light started flashing. I couldn't find anything obvious wrong (I'm no expert), but the exhaust did smell odd.

I was towed to the nearest dealer and they told me A) My gas was contaminated with diesel and B) the Cam Sensor had to be replaced. They charged me $230.
I drove back to the Esso and confirmed I had NOT pumped from a diesel pump, so I filed a complaint and have to contact Esso directly.
Just wanted to get an opinion on whether the Dealer's story sounds legit before I harp on Esso. Anyone?
Thanks.
