Gas... Stick it to 'em

Ah, yes, but think how tasty those Caribou are going to be when we don;t have anything left to eat!

Yeah, a lot of friggin oil that the Canucks have no problem going after, as opposed to US wankers who'd rather give money to the Terrorists for it rather than drill at home. It's fine, they all show us how to live on rat meat once they've destroyed the entire World economy.

Maybe he couldn't guess because you put the wrong letters in? What does AMWA have to do with Arctic National Wildlife Refuge?

I'll bet there are back roads you could take to cover that 20 miles. Besides, 20 miles isn't all that far on a bike. Once you get in shape you should be able to cover it in a little over an hour...

Another idea... move closer to work?

Nah! That would be unAmerican

-Fred

Sure, and then it woud be closer to 30 miles than 20.

Get real. Ride a bike 60 miles a day round trip to work every day? You're not very bright, are you?

Hahahaha! You ain't from around here.

No, that would be stupid. You are obviously totally unfamiliar with this area and a little thing we like to call "the real world." I drive an economy car to work that gets about 35 mpg so it costs me barely over $2 a day in gas to do the round trip. You know how stupid it sounds when you say I should just pack up and move closer to work to a house that costs 30-40% more than the one I have for the same square footage just so I could ride a bike to work? Let me give you a clue. It sounds VERY stupid. Because it IS. Don't call me un-American because I drive to work, tree-hugger. I'm glad I could clear that up for you.

I was trying to save myself from snipped-for-privacy@cox.net, but wouldn't let me go...

Huh?

Shaggy Shagster! Simma-dow-now! I was only *kidding*!

It absolutely would not be impossible (or stupid) to ride a bike 30 miles to and from work. I know some guys that do that (when it's nice out) because they *enjoy* it. That doesn't mean I would expect anyone to do it to just to save gas. That *would* be stupid.

Reread my message above. I said it would be unAmerican to *not* commute a long way to work. That means I was calling you *American*. Jeeze. You got a problem with that?

I have a zero mile commute, so I am the one that doesn't meet the American norm. But it's not because I'm a tree-hugger, far from it. Heck, I think I own almost every gasoline powered conveyance and toy available (and in numbers) and use them all regularly. It's because I could finagle a job where I don't have to waste the 2 hours a day driving to and from work that I used to. I value my time much more than $2.00 a gallon gasoline.

By the way, about the only thing you "cleared up" in your reply was that you have a short fuse and can't derive the context of messages very well.

Cool. I had no problem reading that at all. But Acronyms can be a bit tough if the letters are wrong...

Huh? I don't know where this viscous rumor came from. I'm no liberal. In fact, I'm a staunch NH republican. I just didn't understand the acronym...

-Fred W (from the "Live Free or Die" state)

Well I guess you're just not as funny as you think you are. There was no way to tell from your post that you were kidding. I'm not sure how you think anyone should know you were "kidding" when you say stuff like "Ride a bicycle or walk." and "I'll bet there are back roads you could take to cover that 20 miles." and "Besides, 20 miles isn't all that far on a bike. Once you get in shape you should be able to cover it in a little over an hour..." and "Another idea... move closer to work? Nah! That would be unAmerican." Don't take any of this personally. After all, I'm just *kidding*.

You should be a lawyer. :-)

So you stuff envelopes for a living. Congratulations. Just kidding. Hey, I like this kidding stuff! :-)

I'm glad you cleared that up for me. No go stuff an envelope. Just kidding! heh heh

Yep, you got me figured out now. I'm an envelope stuffing lawyer! Send me your snaily and I'll send you some writs and whatnot. You can never have enough of them.

Now you're catching on. See you out on the bike path.

-Fred W

OK. If you say so...
