I've ordered the part. Is this something I should pay to have installed, or is it something I can do within 2-3 hours being of average abilities??

It's something you can do within 1/2 hour being of average abilities :-)

I think that I could install this kit, and my abilities are average at best.
Thomas,
Pay the $150 and have it done right.
You will not get this done in 3 hours. A decent Jeep shop will.
The airbag has to be "moved" as well as the steering wheel and, if truly done correctly, the wiring harness needs to be pinned and jumpered.
I took a good hard look at it, determined that I couldn't get it done in a day and dropped it off at my local dealer.
Ate lunch, had some margaritas and it was done.
Well worth the money TO ME.
Your mileage may vary.
It works very well on those I-75 trips down to the Keys.

Well it took me 45 mins, and I'm not claiming to be anything other than average. It may take a bit longer if you have to use the patch cable.
The airbag takes less than 10 mins to move - disconnect the battery, and it's only a few bolts...
