Think, which part of the axle is the Dana 44, is it the ring and pinion? Dana 44 8 1/2" AXLE RATIO and tooth count: gear ratio ring gear-to-pinion teeth

I fail to see how the price and the relative suckiness have anything to do with one another.
You have said twice how bad the Rubicon sucks, but your sole support to your assertion is the price they get for some silly options. I want to know why it sucks, not how poorly the accessory list is put together.

Independent suspension? Not on your life!
It has D44 axles front and rear with either electric or air lockers (I don't see that one is essentially better than the other except the plumbing is replaced with wires). It also has a 4:1 transfer case instead of the 2.62:1 that all the other models get, and it gets 4.10 gearing that is preferred but not available in the other models unless you get the 4 banger motor.
