110 Power steering...

Satellite delay in the power steering doing it's stuff. I've had a quick peek (it's raining!) and the belt seems tight. Took the top off the fluid and that seems present... though very frothy and could probably do with an egg cup full of fluid in to bring it up to level.



When I turn it seems heavy then the Power kicks in and it goes light. Any suggestions? Having looked at the power steering unit it's got 6 bolts on top if that helps (all I seem to note in bolt counting in previous threads).



I did spy a bleed nipple... could it be trapped air?

I'd change the belt before going any further, they don't always squeal..... You could try bleeding it as well, but fluid is usally rather more keen on getting out than air in.

Right oh... I've gave it a wiggle and it felt tight... I'll investigate further in the dry. I't done around 800 mile now since I got it so it's probably the newness wearing off and needing a bit of a sinch up with the old crow bar and spanners.

My experience is that the belt is quite short and thus needs to be fairly tight.

It might be one of the steering column joints.When they start to seize,the symptons are as stated. Try soaking in WD40 and see if it gets any better.If it does,change the joint. Yours Gmacz
