90 n/a D smoke

Thought I'd do the cam belt before I played with the inj pump timing and stuff. Did the seals on cam and crank while I was at it. As I lined up the dots before i removed the belt, the crank and pump were on but the cam was one tooth early. Put belt back on with dots all in line. Been down the m/way today and the preformance seems the same to me. Haven't noticed smoke change yet as it never smoked on m/way. What diference will the wrong cam timing make?

The valves will be opening/closing at the wrong time! Wheather one tooth out does any harm is likey to be a matter of lengthy conjecture, the only way to check would be too look at the valve seats, cylinder head and piston crowns.....

Well yes;0), but I was meaning in a bhp/ torque/ smoke sort of way:0)

The people I got it off bought it in the middle of 97 with 78,000 miles on it and they said the didn't even know it had a cambelt. So maybe its been like that since 60k ish whe it was due, I changed it on saturday a shade before 111k as it was leaking oil out of the hole in the bottom. Thanks
