I really don't think that this is the reason. Health and safety rules would be different for a tent, as it is not a pernament structure that would confine people, and there fore not subject to the same restrictions. I still think it was a theft thing. Tents do get very crowed and If numbers had to be checked there *should* be someone on the door regulating the amount of people. Organisers of big events are on the whole very hot on the rules and regulations, IMHO and it wouldn't be in their interests to ignore and legislation, from and official sense and from the exhibitors POV, they wouldn't come back to a badly organised event.
As for the pushchair being a 'firehazzard' well that would also mean that wheelchairs would have to be considered a fire hazzard, and would also be denied access, which would be against the Dissablity Act (1998 IIRC) which made it law that dissabled people should not be denied access to any public area whether static or not. (why so many buses now can take wheelchairs) So if they did refuse, they would be breaking the Law Im crap at explaining this type of thing, and I know Im also dragging the thread on, but hearing your story did wind me up big time. Essentially it was the 'Policy' of the stall holder, not any legislation. If he did it because he had to much stock precariously stacked, the organisers should have 'had words' and he should have gotten a bigger pitch
I get really pissed off hearing these stories, as ultimatly it puts families off going to places like this, which is a shame for the families and ultimatley reduces potential sales.
I'll shut up now Im glad to hear you did have a good time and hope that you or anyone else do not come across this type of behaviour again.
