Batteries for fobs.

Just thought I'd share this one with the group.

Today the RRIII told me the battery was going flat in the key fob (how does it know that? Clever stuff!)

Anyway Off I toddle in to my local Stradstones and ask for a replacement battery x2 as I may as well do the spare key.

RRIII part number shows 1 battery £9 odd plus tha VAT

Disco part number shows exact same battery but a pack of 2 (yep thats right two) get this.... £7 plus VAT

So well done parts chap at Stradstone for not fleecing me and heads up everyone else with a RRIII and a low battery on the fob.

Yes, but the battery from the market will be Chinese crap and probably won't last a month. How do I know this? I import Chinese crap for a living and sell them to the likes of Market traders and pound shops.

What's the battery number Lee? think my Disco one is a CR2032, if so they are available at Tesco for about £1.70 for two! Or at a push the CMOS battery in the back of your computer.

I was just looking at those in Morrisons half an hour ago, 1.80 each, but TWO for 1.70, can't beat that.

I get those cr2302 for a £1.00 a strip of 5

The last one in a key fob has done 2+ years

I must admit one in a key fob has didn't do three months

Local BL dealer at the time wanted £10.00 for the battery and £50.00 to reprogram it

I was so lazy at the time I couldn't find the second finger

If it's a 2032 I've just bought a packet from the pound shop with 4x 2032,

2x 2025, 2x 2016...

The DII fob battery is 2032, ISTR the DI has 2 2016s in.
