Front Fog Lights on Disco

I'm trying to work out why the front fog lights on my '95 Disco are not working. The owners manual denies all knowledge of their existance and the only thing that Haynes will tell me is that they take a 55W bulb. Anyone know where I would find the approprate relays and fuse, or have any ideas / experience of likely faults?

It appears to be a factory fit installation by the way, as it uses the switch next to the cruise control and the lights look as if they are wired to a proper loom rather than a DIY piece of spaghetti wiring.

Its a V8i ES if that makes any difference.

I know this sounds condescending ... but it isn't meant to be. You do have the dipped or dim-dipped lights on when you're trying the fogs don't you? They don't work with either no lights at all or main beam - or they shouldn't anyway.

In my handbook (1996 V8 ES) they get a mention on Page 46 (operation),

135 (bulb rating) & 140 (bulb replacement) - but no mention of a fuse.

Can't find any reference in the workshop or electrical manuals either but the installation instructions for STC7630 (ES Fog Lamp Kit) shows a relay being inserted in the area under the steering wheel (where the main fuse block is). Doesn't show any additional fuses being installed though.

Acording to Rave the lights pick up a supply from fuse 2 in the engine compartment fuse box and the relay gets a supply from F8 in the facia fuse box, also on my Disco (1996 TDi ES) with factory fitted front fogs they can be switched on with just the sides lit and stay on no matter what selection of lighting you have, unless you turn the lights off. Rave says the relay is Yellow and located on the drop down bracket above the pasenger footwell. Theelay will have four wires, Brown + Green, 2 Blue +Purple & Black

Well found Peter. I've just been out to check mine and you're right - they don't go off when main beam is on. I always thought they were supposed to but looks like I was wrong (again) :-)
