Help Wanted

Guys:

Ashamed to admit it but................... I let some "handwash" car jockeys pressure clean my Rangie and then rub- it-all-over :-( Since this time, all the friggin' central locking is screwed.

  1. Remote locking/unlocking does not affect the PSF door (stays locked-up tight)
  2. Raising/lowering the DSF locking tab only unlocks the 2 rear-doors and not the PSF.
3.Raising/Lowering the PSF locking tab unlock/locks ALL doors.

Question: Have they forced too much water thru my orifice :-) If I remove the inside door panels and mop-up will this fix my problems?

Were they door to door guys?

If so I'd check your alarm works ok - Just a thought.

Sounds a bit way out but it could be they were masquerading as car cleaners in order to set your car up for a 'cherry pick' in the dead of night.

I had a problem with my Freelander 2 weeks ago - pass window was smashed and nav system nicked - alarm light was still flashing so the sensors must have been dissabled somehow.

Hi & thanks for the reply.

No, it was a pucker permanent car wash (is always very busy).

I'm just worried that they have inadvertantly buggered my car's central locking. I saw an article that warned against "power-washing" as water can be pushed past the seals.

Just worrying that it's going to be expensive to get fixed.

Regards,

Dan.
