Indicator sounder on P38

Does anyone know where the unit is on a 1999 Range Rover that makes the clicking sound when the indicators are operating? Mine doesn't make any noise at all (bought it in March like that) and, whilst the indicators otherwise work OK, the lack of any sound means I'm tending to leave them on for long periods, unnoticed, when the self cancelling doesn't work.



I've got a workshop manual on cd-ROM and I've looked on the internet but I can't find out what unit is involved, where it is, or how to change it.

It's part of the instrument console (the dials on the dash to you and me). I don't know if it is separately serviceable. The official LR version will be to replace the whole panel. You can get them from places like

but remember that both the BeCM and the instrument panel store the mileage, and if there is a discrepancy, the highest wins.

Hmmm.... sounds complicated and expensive - I was hoping that it might have been an accessible plug-in unit somewhere.

It looks as if I might just have to keep a better eye on the visual indicator in future.

Or add your own buzzer, fed from a flasher live if it's doable.
