I'm looking at replacing the '96 300tdi for something with a bit more guts.
I've seen a '99 T V8i ES (Series II) for £6500 and 114,000 on the clock and LPG conversion.
How many miles can the V8 do without worrying about engine wear? I know someone with a 300tdi thats got 198,000 and still running impeccably so theres no doubt about the longevity of the diesel.
I'd want to keep it for a good 5 years, and put another 80,000 on the clock before selling - is this something the V8 can do without needing a rebuild and massive maintenance or should I stick to diesels?
