hi everyone

Its happened again Every time i go offroad the rad gets mud in the matrix and i overheat on the way home. Short of taking a power washer with me is there any way you guys have found to stop this happening.

thanks Ian

Series3 "scruff"

There was an optional chaff guard available which should help, but since it amounts to a fine mesh behind the plastic grille it should be easy enough to make something.

Most offroad sites have a watery section. take a bucket and a hand brush with you. Before you leave, park up by/in the water and then chuck buckets of water at your dirty radiator. Use the brush carefully if it helps.

Old trick used on racing quads to stop roost from the bike in front clogging radiator was to stretch a large pair of tights in front so the clods would bounce off. A similar idea may work with material kept an inch or so in front of the Land Rover rad. mud should dry quickly and fall off with vibration
