Transit wheel arches

It's come to that time of the year again and my wheel arches are sufficiently rusty they have sharp edges and will fail the MOT. Of course I can use good old bungi tape but that's not long lasting solution and it looks unsightly.

Can you get repair add-ons for the front and rear wheel arches? The front wheel arch is made of 2 panels and suspect that might complicate things.

Is there anything which can be done to ensure the "inner" and outer wheel arches are actually joined together? Can you get a complete replacement inner and outer combined? Since it's only around the wheel arch where it actually goes.

Finally if such beasts do exist, are there any affordable online suppliers?

Many thanks.

use a different mot tester, my transit arches are seriously bad, yet still pass the test.

the only way to repair properly is to cut the whole area, inner and outer from a good one and patch it in, a very satisfying job when done right, but it is difficult,

if they still make them just get an arch panel and whack it over the top, it will rot in the end, but so will everything.

Cut out the outer arch then reconstruct the inner where appropriate then weld in a new outer arch onto it using a pattern part of make your own. If I'm not bothered on looks I usually cut the arch out of a piece of steel, weld it in then turn down the edges to make the lip. Then slap on loads of waxoyl underseal.

I'd forgotten that with the outer arch removed, I'd have do access to the inner arch and as you say could make effectively a bracket to connect the inner to the new outer. Many thanks.

Tape should do the job on a temporary basis!

It's surprised that no one makes the composite repair panel already since it's such a common thing to go.

Many thanks.
