series suspension.

G'day everyone.

just giving some thought as to how i would like to upgrade my series 3 suspension in the future. i have been intrigued by the "revolver shackles" offered by the Gon2far crew. in recent times i have seen a few companies popping up in Aus manufacturing similar things.

They appear to do a very good job at increasing articulation, but the one concern i have is that once the wheel travel is extended past the range of the suspension, and is then dropping due to the articulating shackle, the only weight-force that will be applied to that wheel is the weight of the wheel and roughly half the axle. as this is relatively small (compared with that of the car) then there will be very little friction force, causing to the wheel to slip and subsequently that axle to lose drive.

Has anybody had any experience with these pivotting shackles, if so could you tell me how they perform and if my above concern is misguided.

Cheers.

Sam.
